At the end of February, the strong beer launch took place as usual with Derblecken and Singspiel at Munich's Nockherberg.

In retrospect, there was a lot of criticism of Söder.

Munich – There was a lot of fuss around the Singspiel and the derblecken by cabaret artist Maxi Schafroth at this year's strong beer launch at Munich's Nockherberg.

Markus Söder (CSU) and Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) in particular were targeted for Derblelecken.

Söder took it (largely) calmly, only criticizing afterwards that some things in Schafroth's speech were exaggerated or were not presented entirely correctly.

Given the strong criticism that Schafroth directed at the Bavarian government, this is not really surprising.

Overall, Söder rated the event as positive and posted several photos of the evening on Instagram.

But there was also some strong criticism for this.

Why?

Söder posts Nockherberg photos – and sometimes receives strong criticism

As is usual for politicians like Söder, the Bavarian Prime Minister was in demand on the evening of the strong beer launch - including for photos.

And Söder uploaded some of them to Instagram, writing under one post, for example: “Best Bavarian entertainment: The Nockherberg is tradition, entertainment and a real cultural asset.

Great singing game at this year's strong beer launch.

Thanks to the actors for their great performances.”

Söder diligently shared photos - triggering a wave of criticism on Instagram.

Often seen in these pictures: politicians, Singspiel actors – and beer mugs.

And that's exactly why a lot of criticism is gathering in his Instagram posts - because many users interpret the Prime Minister's frequent posing with beer as a double standard, because Söder is one of the loudest critics of the traffic light government's approval of cannabis.

“Your double standards are unacceptable with your statements”: strong criticism of Söder’s strong beer photos

At the moment, Söder hardly misses an opportunity to criticize the traffic lights because of the planned cannabis release.

Söder recently said he would make things difficult for stoners in Bavaria.

So there's no power over drugs - but taking a break from alcohol?

Many Instagram users are now criticizing this.

“So this is what a 'no drugs in Bavaria' policy looks like?

“Interesting!” wrote one user, who received almost 200 likes for the comment.

“Their last 3 posts only show them with beer mugs.

Is this still child protection?

So much for 'no drugs in Bavaria'!

Your double standards are unacceptable with your statements,” wrote another user.

In fact, it is often viewed negatively by the Bavarian Prime Minister for protesting so loudly against cannabis legalization while at the same time never missing an appointment in the beer tent.

According to BR, 6,000 people die every year as a result of alcohol abuse.

Cannabis consumption, on the other hand, is virtually non-lethal - but the drug can still trigger psychosis, among other things.

The pros and cons in the debate surrounding the planned legalization are likely to continue to cause discussions.
