Two men suffered serious injuries after their cars collided.
The cause of this should now be determined.
Steinbach - On Friday evening (March 1st) a serious traffic accident occurred on state road 2240 between Steinbach (Forchheim district) and the turnoff to Brand.
Two people sustained serious injuries.
Violent collision between two cars: small car completely destroyed
The 49-year-old driver of a Smart was traveling from Steinbach towards Forth.
At the same time, a 33-year-old driver was driving his Peugeot along the state highway in the opposite direction, police reported on Saturday.
Halfway there was a massive collision between the two vehicles.
After the Peugeot came to a stop on the road after a 180-degree turn, the 49-year-old's Smart overturned and was thrown around 15 meters into an adjacent field.
The small car was completely destroyed by the force of the impact.

Both drivers were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Initially, it could not be ruled out that the 49-year-old involved in the accident suffered life-threatening injuries.
Accident expert on site, state road closed for hours
There was material damage to the vehicles amounting to around 70,000 euros.
An expert was called to the scene of the accident to clarify what happened.
State Road 2240 was completely closed for several hours starting Friday evening.
