Geltendorf wants to create a special area for the use of wind power.
Suitable areas are in a forested area north of state road 2054 southeast of Hausen.
Geltendorf/Moorenweis – According to planner Robert Sing, four wind turbines with a height (including rotor diameter) of 250 meters could be built here.
When asked by Tagblatt, the location more than adheres to the prescribed distance from the nearest residential development.
It is “more than 1000 meters” to Hausen and Eismerszell.
Preliminary discussions with the landowners have already taken place.
Properties
The plans have now been presented publicly for the first time to the local council.
“We are currently securing the property,” explained Sing to around 30 listeners.
This is the first step of land use planning.
During public participation, every citizen has the opportunity to comment.
Mayor Robert Sedlmayr (ÖDP) promised “maximum transparency”.
He also wants to present the project at citizens' meetings and advocated entering into the public debate and "communicating concerns and fears."
At the same time, the town hall boss made it clear why the municipality was tackling the issue.
Since wind turbines at a distance of 1000 meters from the nearest residential development are privileged building projects, every investor would be entitled to a building permit, provided there are no public concerns to the contrary.
The local government and citizens would then not have the opportunity to contribute financially.
Like in Fuchstal
But that should be possible in Geltendorf.
Following the example of Fuchstal (Landsberg district), a GmbH & Co. KG is to be founded, in which the landowners can invest 25 percent and the local community and its citizens can participate in the remaining 75 percent with investments starting from 5,000 euros.
If you want to invest less, you can participate through a cooperative model.
The building control process is likely to take the rest of the year.
This is followed by an economic feasibility analysis, wind measurements lasting at least a year and studies on noise emissions, shadows and species protection.
If all of this turns out to be positive, the building permit could be available in the first half of 2026, says Sing. The construction and start of operation of the systems is not expected until 2027 at the earliest.
