The oldest citizen of the Tegernsee Valley, Irmgard Schmitt, celebrated her birthday on Friday (March 1st): her 105th. The President of the State Parliament also came by to congratulate her.

Bad Wiessee

– Irmgard Schmitt was able to toast the special anniversary in her own house with her well-wishers.

The former interpreter has only been looked after by a carer at home for three years.

State Parliament President Aigner stops by to congratulate

State Parliament President Ilse Aigner also congratulated the long-time CSU member on the special day of honor, and she was accompanied by CSU local chairman Florian Sareiter.

“It is rare that I get into a birthday group where a birthday cake can be cut with all three sons,” said Aigner.

Jubilee has three sons, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren

Schmitt was born on March 1, 1919, in Kitzingen, Franconia, as the youngest of four siblings.

In 1953 she moved with her husband Dr.

Robert Schmitt, an internist and spa doctor, to Bad Wiessee.

The marriage, concluded in 1944, was blessed with three sons.

Currently, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren enrich Irmgard Schmitt’s life.

Until the age of 82, the woman from Wiessee played tennis enthusiastically and loved to travel.

She still keeps herself informed about world events and major sporting events with great interest.

And how do you manage to get so old and stay healthy at the same time?

Schmitt’s clear answer: “The magic word is satisfaction.

Accept events with calmness and be grateful for everything that is given to you in life.”
