Middle school students stuck in the playground for several hours, suspicions of terrorist attacks?

The day of this Thursday, February 29 was disrupted at the Lucie-Aubrac college, in Montévrain.

Around 3 p.m., the 400 students found themselves stuck in the playground.

Without explanation, some of them thought it was a terrorist attack, causing panic and the displacement of certain parents.

Friday morning, many of these parents complained about the establishment's lack of transparency regarding the reasons for these disruptions.

Especially since classes have not resumed and students have been invited to return home.

“As soon as the lunch break, the children began to feel a strange atmosphere.

In the afternoon, they stayed outside for three hours, without any explanation.

Rumors began to emerge talking about a terrorist attack or even a professor found lifeless in the corridors.

Some children started having anxiety attacks and called their parents,” says a mother of students.

On its Facebook account, the Montévrain town hall wanted to reassure parents.

“In the afternoon, false rumors caused panic within the Lucie-Aubrac college, rightly worrying the families.

Although we do not have all the elements in our possession at the moment, rest assured that the city and the management of the establishment immediately discussed the situation.

An unplanned internal movement disrupted the smooth running of classes at the end of the day.”

However, the children and staff were never in danger.”

What are the reasons for this internal movement?

“A sword of Damocles” over the heads of teachers

A middle school teacher, who wishes to remain anonymous, says: “One of our colleagues is in great psychological distress.

In solidarity, we have decided not to offer our courses.

Our goal is to raise awareness about the nauseating climate that reigns in our establishment and the relentlessness to which some of us are victims.”

In reaction to this movement, the national union of secondary school teachers (Snes-FSU) of Créteil speaks of a “sword of Damocles”, over the heads of the teaching staff and of “toxic managerial actions”.

“Will we have to resort to suicides like at France Telecom, for the suffering to stop?

Today at Lucie-Aubrac college, the teachers said stop, it is time to act as an ethical and responsible civil servant,” adds Snes-FSU.

Contacted the rectorate of the Créteil academy confirms the mobilization: “A psychological unit has been set up within the establishment.

The rectorate is available to all its teams to support them,” assures Cécile Tabarin, director of the rector’s office.

Classes will resume normally this Monday morning.
