Maria Clara Groppler and dance professional Mikael Tatarkin were the first dance couple to have to leave the 17th season of “Let's Dance” in 2024.

Dance professional Christian Polanc doesn't think the decision is fair.

Munich – The exit of Maria Clara Groppler (25) and Mikael Tatarkin (27) in the first episode of “Let's Dance” came as a complete surprise to many.

Professional dancer Christian Polanc (45) has a guess as to why the two got caught.

He makes it clear that he is not happy with the decision - he criticizes RTL for one particular thing in particular, because "this is not the first time something like this has happened."

“Let's Dance” 2024: Christan Polanc talks about the end of Groppler and Tartarkin

Comedian Maria Clara Groppler and professional dancer Mikael Tatarkin were the first couple to leave “Let’s Dance”.

And this despite the fact that two other couples received fewer points from the jury for their performances.

But in the end the viewers did not vote them into the second round.

The two received too few calls and dropped out.

The disappointment was great and Maria Clara Groppler complained mainly about RTL after her exit.

She is certain: the clip that showed her and Mikael training for the show cost her a place in the next round.

Christian Polanc also believes that the depiction in the clip could have had a decisive influence on the audience.

“The clips before the dance don’t always show what it’s really like.

“You try to pack a whole week full of training, suffering, hard work and pain into two minutes,” he explains in the “

Let’s Talk About Dance

” podcast.

He continues: “I think that was the case with Maria and Mika too.

I heard they got along really well, had a great week, trained a lot.

[...] The film made it seem as if she wasn't serious about it."

These stars are still dancing on “Let’s Dance” 2024

Included are Tony Bauer (28), Sophia Thiel (28), Stefano Zarrella (33), Biyon Kattilathu (39), Detlef Soost (53), Eva Padberg (44), Ann-Kathrin Bendixen (24), Lina Larissa Strahl (26), Jana Wosnitza (30), Lulu (32), Gabriel Kelly (22), Mark Keller (58) and Tillmann Schulz (34).

Dance professional Polac is sure: Tatarkin's lack of popularity led to the end of “Let's Dance”.

Polanc is certain that the disaster began when the draw was made.

He saw from Groppler's facial expression how disappointed she was about Mikael Tartarkin being assigned as a "Let's Dance" dance partner.

He also has another fear that could also have contributed to the end of “Let's Dance”: namely the low level of awareness of the professional dancer, who is taking part in the format for the first time this year.

“It makes a big difference whether as a candidate you dance with a professional who is very well known and has a large fan base or not.

“It’s not the first time this has happened,” he says.

His conclusion: “Several things came together and as a result it wasn’t enough.”

By the way: A completely different “Let's Dance” star is daring to embark on a new adventure: professional dancer Zsolt Sándor Cseke (36) is becoming an actor – for two TV series.
