Highlights: A lawyer's tweets justifying the October 7 attack embarrass the Lille bar. Eddine Denfer-Djeffal published numerous anonymous tweets legitimizing the attack. He also propagated anti-Semitic clichés or ironicizing the Hyper Cacher attack. The Bar is taking "all necessary measures regarding the circumstances of these tweets and their consequences” - Me Florent Méreau, President of Lille Bar. He is a collaborator of the Masson-Dutat firm Lille, the two partners of the former presidents Emmanuel Masson and Marie-Christine Dutat.

Lille lawyer Eddine Denfer-Djeffal published numerous anonymous tweets legitimizing the October 7 attack, propagating anti-Semitic clichés or ironicizing the Hyper Cacher attack.

Lille lawyer Eddine Denfer-Djeffal has been in turmoil for several days: a Twitter account accuses him of having published on the same social network (renamed

“X”

) numerous messages of an anti-Semitic nature or advocating anti-Semitic terrorist acts.

Me Eddine Denfer-Djeffal would in fact be the owner of the Twitter account @Luffy_Affranchi, deleted since these revelations, and on which these messages were posted.

Since these revelations,

Le Figaro

has been able to authenticate that Eddine Denfer-Djeffal was indeed the author of these tweets: numerous posts referred to legal files on which he was working, and a former collaborator of his office formally identified him on the account's profile photo, where Eddine Denfer-Djeffal poses for a selfie behind her phone.

Among the messages of an anti-Semitic nature, some date back in particular to 2015 and the Hyper Cacher attack committed by Amedy Coulibaly, Porte de Vincennes in Paris, which left four dead.

Eddine Denfer-Djeffal made irony in particular about the act of bravery of Lassana Bathily, an undocumented employee of the Hyper Cacher who had hidden hostages during the attack, by attacking the

“feuj”

whom he considers

“lucky »

 :

“The feuj then really employ an undocumented person, make money from him, and in the end it is he who saves them!

Always lucky

,” he wrote.

A few days after the attack, Eddine Denfer-Djeffal joked in a mocking tone on Twitter:

“Kirikou has just arrived where I work as if he was going to carry out a robbery, I thought it was Coulibaly”

.

Several messages posted on the same Twitter account also minimize the October 7 massacres committed by Hamas, or even apologize for them by legitimizing them.

“Every horror has its consequence”

, he writes, Israel’s attitude towards Gaza can only

“lead to a violent response”

;

finally, he compares the attack of October 7 to the acts committed by French resistance fighters during the Second World War.

He also shared videos to support the idea that the Hamas attackers had behaved humanely towards the women and children taken hostage on October 7.

“Deny a people their dignity, their autonomy and you will only obtain the consequences of your actions

,” he writes again.

Further on, he also responds to an Internet user mentioning

“fake news”

from

“Qatar”

on organ trafficking in which Jews are allegedly engaged, believing that this subject is

“unfortunately not well enough known”

.

He finally questions Israel's account of the massacres of October 7, expressing surprise that houses were found charred

"while Hamas had only light weapons"

, implicitly accusing Israel of manipulating the truth about October 7 .

Finally commenting on the video where a lady is filmed tearing down posters in memory of the Hamas hostages, he considers that she is a

“great lady, human, courageous, and worthy”

.

The President of the Lille Bar, Me Florent Méreau, confirmed to La Voix du Nord that he had

“immediately taken up the matter”

and was

“currently taking all necessary measures regarding the circumstances of these tweets and their consequences”

.

What this laconic response does not say is that the affair actually embarrasses the Bar, to which Me Eddine Denfer-Djeffal is close in more than one way.

Firstly because he is a collaborator of the Masson-Dutat firm in Lille: the two partners, Emmanuel Masson and Marie-Christine Dutat, are both former presidents of the Bar - and Marie-Christine Dutat is still the current president of CARPAL, the retirement fund for Lille lawyers.

This indicates to Le

Figaro

that it has notified Eddine Denfer-Djeffal of its intention to fire him following the revelations about his tweets;

ultimately, the lawyer took the lead by choosing to resign on his own, therefore ceasing his collaboration with the Masson-Dutat firm.

“As a former president, I was deeply shocked by these revelations

,” confides Marie-Christine Dutat.

Close to LFI MP David Guiraud

Above all, Eddine Denfer-Djeffal is known for being a committed, very political lawyer.

A poster of Jean-Luc Mélenchon sits above his office desk, and he is known to be close to France Insoumise, in particular to MP David Guiraud in whose photos he appears on numerous occasions.

A long-time friend of David Guiraud's deputy, Shéhérazade Bentorki, his comments embarrass even the MP's teams, according to sources close to the parliamentarian.

In addition to his political commitments, the former activist of the pro-Palestinian association Conscience is also a member of the criminal commission of the Lille Bar, and a teacher at the Catholic University of Lille where he is responsible for TD in the second year of the license, for the civil law course.

However, he deleted his LinkedIn profile and therefore his online CV when his tweets were revealed.

Finally and above all, Me Eddine Denfer is a member of the Union of Lawyers of France (SAF), a union close to the extreme left in its positions, which had notably been at the initiative, with the Syndicat de la magistrature, of the invitation made to Medina to the Feast of Huma.

A union of which was also a member... Florent Méreau, current president of Lille, and elected thanks to the support of the SAF.
