The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, participated this Monday in San Nicolás in the opening dinner of Expoagro 2024 – YPF Agro Edition, an event that will bring together the main actors in the agro-industrial chain until March 8.
“The province of Buenos Aires is the best example to rethink false dichotomies: our backbone is production and work, both in industry and in the agricultural sector,” said Kicillof and added: “It is
impossible to consider governing this province without thinking in the field
: we have dedicated ourselves from day one to generating public policies that would provide answers in the interior of Buenos Aires.”
In this context, the Governor said:
"Last year we managed to go through one of the worst droughts in history and today we are facing a very different situation
, facing a harvest that shows how important the recovery was."
“The Buenos Aires Government was not absent at any time: we declared an emergency and changed the rules to also incorporate and accompany the tenant producer,” he added.
The Governor was accompanied by the Ministers of Agrarian Development, Javier Rodríguez;
of Production, Science and Technological Innovation, Augusto Costa;
of Security, Javier Alonso;
and Government, Carlos Bianco;
and the president of Banco Provincia, Juan Cuattromo.
Finally, Kicillof highlighted: “After having gone through the drought and now having much better prospects, we are faced with the possibility of continuing to think about how we can add value in a sector as competitive as agriculture.”
“Through exchange, debate and public policies that promote roots and production in the interior,
we will be able to leave behind false antinomies for the benefit of the development of the province and the country
,” he concluded.
