Inning - The Inninger district management has a new offer: the book lending room has been opened.

A mobile Ratsch banker is also being planned.

Mayra Köhler from Gibensbach has been working in Inningen neighborhood management for over six months, primarily taking care of the concerns of senior citizens.

The district management is housed in the building next to the school.

The Inninger book lending room has now been opened there.

“The lending room should not only be a place for book lovers, but also contribute to strengthening local cohesion.

“A welcoming atmosphere has been created here, where books can be borrowed, read and shared without any formal obligations,” says Köhler, explaining the idea.

The books come from donations from the Holzland.

The once quite sterile and cool room now looks more like a living room with its modern furnishings, carpeting and sofas.

“It should be a meeting place.

You can sit down here and start reading your book comfortably.

I can simply be there as a conversation partner,” says Köhler.

She is an intermediary between citizens and the community.

It's not just seniors who are invited to borrow, read and linger, emphasizes Köhler in an interview with the local newspaper.

“It's for young and old. I have everything here - from crime novels to thrillers to romance novels and even children's books.

We also received board games and audio books as donations.”

But it's not like a library.

You don't need to show any ID.

“You can just come, pick out a book and then bring it back, and there’s no time limit on that either.

Of course it should be brought back.” This is possible during the usual office hours in the district management: Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

A return box is also planned so that books can be returned outside opening hours.

Overall, the district management offering is becoming increasingly well known.

“The ball is slowly starting to roll,” says Köhler, visibly pleased.

She also organizes a pretzel get-together once a month, and a cell phone workshop is currently taking place.

A meeting with the topic “Short-term memory training” is scheduled for the fourth time.

“In the spring, my mobile Ratsch-Bankerl will be used, with which I would like to visit a different street once a week,” says Köhler.
