The governor of Campania Vincenzo De Luca is also among the six people who will go to trial before the judges of the Court of Auditors for the smart card introduced in Campania aimed at demonstrating that one was vaccinated against Covid.
According to the prosecution, the production of the cards would have been a useless expense as it overlapped with the national green pass.
The Financial Police investigated the matter, under the coordination of prosecutors Davide Vitale and Mauro Senatore.
The invitation to make statements to the suspects - President De Luca and the other members of the Region's crisis unit - was notified last August.
