HC Landsberg was eliminated from the ice hockey play-offs.

The Riverkings suffered a decisive defeat in Peißenberg at the weekend.

District – That was it for the play-offs: In the fifth game of the series, the Riverkings played again in Peißenberg.

It was clear that the HCL had to win in order not to be eliminated from the play-offs.

But nothing came of it.

The ice hackers from Lech had to admit defeat 1:2.

Out of the ice hockey play-offs for HC Landsberg: decisive defeat at the weekend in Peißenberg

As in previous games, the 2,144 spectators saw a fast-paced and extremely close game.

The Peißenberg home team acted more defensively, but still moved forward quickly.

Landsberg, on the other hand, tried to rush forward to put Peißenberg under pressure.

Nevertheless, it took until the eighth minute of the game before Korbinian Benz, standing in front of the goalkeeper, poked the disc over the goal line in the follow-up shot and thus put the HCL in the lead.

Both teams repeatedly had good chances as the first third progressed, but failed due to the two strong goalies Korbinian Sertl on Peißenberg's side and Moritz Borst on Landsberger's side.

That's why Landsberg went into the first third break with a narrow lead.

The second third began with a bang: Barely 50 seconds had been played when Martin Andrä equalized.

When a shot was attempted, the puck initially remained in a wet spot on the ice.

Moritz Borst was forced to react from close range - and when he had already kneeled down to make a save, Andrä was able to push the puck over the goal line.

The teams also tried to overcome the neutral zone quickly in the second third and repeatedly made good attacks, but they were not crowned with success.

That's why the tie went into the second third break.

This principle did not initially change in the last section of the game either.

Both teams tried not to make any mistakes and still put forward pressure.

Sinan Ondörtoglu took advantage of one of the few opportunities in which there was no consistent defense in front of the Landsberg goal in the 48th minute to make it 2-1 for the home team.

The Riverkings now threw everything forward to force an equalizer in the final minutes of the game.

Coach Martin Hoffmann also pulled the goalkeeper off the ice in favor of a sixth skater.

After the end of the ice hockey play-offs for HC Landsberg: The coach's conclusion

However, all the efforts of the young Landsberg team were in vain.

It remained a narrow 2-1 result for Peißenberg.

The Landsbergers are now saying goodbye to the summer break.

“Of course, after such a close game and such an intense, close series, I'm initially a little sad that we couldn't win this game despite all our efforts,” said coach Martin Hoffmann.

“We gave it our all again, but unfortunately it didn’t quite work out.

Nevertheless, I am proud of my young team.” Because they “developed greatly over the course of the season and fully met our expectations.”
