"Stopping the work" of Marco Marsilio and the center-right in Abruzzo "would be devastating for this area, but I am optimistic that we will continue to do this work together", said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the Teramo chamber of commerce at an electoral event with the governor Marco Marsilio, re-nominated for the regional elections on Sunday.
"I have long invested in the Abruzzo challenge, since I was elected here in the bad times you chase me away, you have a greater grip, but it demonstrates once again how much attention we dedicate to this crossroads of our nation".
Then again: "The Rome-Pescara railway was one of the problems that we inherited, it was included in the Pnrr but it could not have been built in those times: the government scrapped it and found financing outside the Pnrr, at the Cipess we found the funds to secure the railway, which remains one of the great issues of this region".
"Sardinia effect? We still have to see it because they haven't seen how it ended. But I'm very optimistic for Abruzzo", Meloni said later on the sidelines of his speech at the Chamber of Commerce in Teramo.
When they ask the Prime Minister for a comment on the statements of the 'Large Field' who is sure of winning, she replies "Happy for them. I don't like talking about others, in the election campaign I like to talk about what has been done and I think that Marsilio's work has been well demonstrated in these five years. It is a region that in a period of difficulty has resisted in a big way, with people who do not ask for assistance or gifts".
