body
of a man with a
gunshot wound
to the forehead was found this Tuesday on the
roof of a house in Mar del Plata
and the police are investigating the circumstances of the death.
The owner of the home, a 49-year-old man, went up to his roof on Tuesday, found a body in the process of decomposition and
alerted the authorities
.
It happened in the San Martín neighborhood of the spa city.
The remains, according to the first investigations, presented wounds that were not initially confirmed as lacerations caused by a gunshot, but they also raised suspicions of a
violent death
.
The owner gave notice and arrived at the personal location of the 5th Police Station and then it was the prosecutor Leandro Arévalo who ordered an investigation into "causes of death."
The first data that the investigation revealed was that the body had been in the upper part of the house located on 2600 Mateotti Street, between Calabria and Gutenberg, for about four days.
During the first hours following the discovery, there had also been no
complaints regarding the whereabouts of
the victim in question.
Already during the afternoon of the same Tuesday, it was the newspaper La Capital of Mar del Plata that reported that the fatal victim was identified as
Sergio Leguizamón, 27 years old
, and that he was actually murdered with a shot to the head.
Said media indicates that the analysis of the
fingerprints and their comparison
in the AFIS database made it possible to achieve the identity of Leguizamón, who had a large
criminal record
and had been through the prison system on more than one occasion.

Despite the degradation of the corpse, the authorities managed to register fingerprints through the tasks of the Scientific Police.
The investigation also revealed that Leguizamón had criminal charges for
attempted aggravated
robbery , home burglary,
aggravated burglary
;
attempted qualified robbery aggravated by burglary, attempted qualified robbery, concealment of a motorcycle vehicle, aggravated robbery by burglary and robbery by burglary.
Leguizamón, who lived in the same neighborhood where he was killed, was shot from a height lower than where he was and had been there between four and seven days, according to the expert's calculations.
