A lot has been new since the general meeting of the Hubertus-Schützen Fraunberg: In addition to some changes in the board, there are now no longer any non-contributing members.

Fraunberg – 48-year-old Stefan Reiser from Fraunberg was unanimously elected as the new master rifleman at the general meeting of the Hubertus Riflemen in the Stulberger Inn.

After six years at the helm, his predecessor Gerhard Zehetner wants to take things a little easier in the future and has therefore swapped positions with the previous ensign.

Zehetner will remain with the club as a shooter and deputy youth leader.

The new shooting master thanked the members for their trust and Zehetner for handing over this healthy club with modern shooting ranges and the many young people “that you and your wife Monika have brought to the club”.

After a memorial service in the Fraunberg parish church of St. Florian, the outgoing shooting master Zehetner thanked everyone who had supported him during his time in office: “I could always rely on you, as was the case recently with the renovation of the shooting range.”

In the elections under the deputy mayor Hans Rasthofer, there were a few other changes to the board: the sick and long-time secretary Hermann Eschbaumer was replaced by Lara Kunisch and the second sports director Sabrina Kneißl by Rebecca Eschbaumer.

Sports director Stephan Scharl was satisfied with the participation of his shooters in the 24 shooting evenings last year.

The section shooting was very successful for the Oberbierbach riflemen with victory in the team competition and the most participation.

The pistol team in the A class with Josef Schickel, Josef Ramm, Stefan Reiser, Georg Georgakos, Markus Graser and Marcel Schickel also landed in first place and was promoted to the Gauliga.

Second youth leader Zehetner reported just as proudly about the 30 young people between the ages of twelve and 18.

“The motley bunch has become a successful, solid community,” he said happily.

In the Gaurunde Youth North 2022/2023, the youth team with Johanna Ramm, Franziska and Lisa Marie Pfanzelt as well as Hannes Reiser achieved 1st place, where they are also in the current season.

Franziska Pfanzelt has also qualified for the German Championships.

The Hubertus-Schützen firecracker group held the district firecracker meeting as part of the 150th anniversary of the Fraunberg fire department.

For the first time, the firecracker group loudly welcomed the New Year with a few gun salutes.

Despite the costs of modernizing the shooting range amounting to almost 70,000 euros, the treasurers Alexandra Eschbaumer and Bernadette Reiser were able to show a positive cash balance - thanks to the crowdfunding project with the Erdinger VR-Bank and grants from the municipality and district.

The second shooting master Günther Eschbaumer and secretary Hermann Eschbaumer have mastered a mammoth task: They have rewritten the club statutes of the Hubertus shooters and incorporated club concerns.

After the meeting, the draft of the new statutes was passed with one vote against.

What is new is that club members (aged 65 and over) who were previously free of contributions will have to pay a club fee of 25 euros from 2025.

“We have 46 members over 65 years old, we can’t afford that,” admitted Günther Eschbaumer.

However, honorary members will remain free of contributions in the future.

In another vote, the Fraunberger Schützen decided not to increase the current club fees of 45 euros for adults, 20 euros for young people and 10 euros for students.

District rifle master Klaus Waldherr came to honor Georg Lainer, Johann Angermaier and Josef Obermeier for 60 years and Günther Eschbaumer for 40 years of loyalty to the club.

Waldherr presented the Gaukrügerl to the outgoing shooting master.

Vice Mayor Rasthofer praised the shooters for leading the club into a good future through the courage to modernize and their great youth work.
