Highlights: Raphael, Titian and Rubens, 50 paintings at Palazzo Barberini - Lazio. From 29 March to 30 June the masterpieces from the Borghese Gallery (ANSA) will be on display. 'Portrait of a Man' by Antonello da Messina, 'Madonna and Child' by Giovanni Bellini, 'Portraits of a Young Woman with a Unicorn' by Raphael, 'Susanna and the Elders' by Peter Paul Rubens. 'Sacred Love Profane Love' by Titian, 'Sermon of the Baptist' by Paolo Veronese.


From 29 March to 30 June the masterpieces from the Borghese Gallery (ANSA)


 In Rome, on the occasion of the renovation works of the Borghese Gallery, 50 paintings will be transferred to the main floor of Palazzo Barberini to allow the public to continue to enjoy the heritage preserved on the first floor of the Gallery.

The initiative offers an extraordinary exhibition entitled 'Raphael, Titian, Rubens.

Masterpieces from the Borghese Gallery to Palazzo Barberini', with the display of absolute masterpieces, such as 'Portrait of a Man' by Antonello da Messina, 'Madonna and Child' by Giovanni Bellini, 'Madonna with Child, Saint John and Angels' by Sandro Botticelli, 'Portrait of a Young Woman with a Unicorn' by Raphael, 'Susanna and the Elders' by Peter Paul Rubens, 'Sacred Love Profane Love' by Titian, 'Sermon of the Baptist' by Paolo Veronese and many more.


    The collections of the two galleries - Borghese and National Galleries of Ancient Art of Palazzo Barberini - share a similar history, linked to two crucial figures of Roman political and cultural life of the 1600s, Maffeo Barberini and Scipione Borghese, in an ideal historical and cultural.


    "In the wake of Scipione Borghese and Maffeo Barberini, who today would have rejoiced at this initiative - commented Thomas Clement Salomon, director of the National Galleries of Ancient Art - we hope that the public will be able to admire the Borghesian masterpieces at Palazzo Barberini and celebrate this exhibition with difficulty repeatable in the coming decades."

"In carrying out important interventions by the Pnrr which will change the appearance of the Art Gallery - explained Francesca Cappelletti, director of the Borghese Gallery - with an exceptional effort the Gallery will never close and will remain open to visitors during the works".


    After the restoration of the facades, the works at the Borghese Gallery will involve the replacement of the wallpaper and the modernization of the fixtures for energy efficiency, the expansion of accessibility, the updating of the storage rooms and the restoration of some large canvases.
