The Amper Bridge is dilapidated.
A new building would make them suitable for heavy loads in the future.
The city is trying to prevent that.

The debate about relocating the B 2 in Fürstenfeldbruck is apparently moving again.
The repurposing of existing streets is also coming into focus again.
Fürstenfeldbruck - In view of the new developments, people in the city are keeping a low profile, they want to have further discussions and are not yet trying to make it public.
In the background, however, some are already looking forward to the fact that a relocation of the B 2 from the city center towards Oskar-von-Miller-Straße could now become possible.
At the highest level
A spokesman for the responsible road construction authority confirms that a meeting between the city and the state building authority took place in September 2023.
“There was agreement at the highest level that a solution must be found that takes all concerns into account in the best possible way,” says a spokesman for the building authority.
The State Building Authority has promised to examine these options with an open mind and to discuss the different variants with the superior authorities.
These also include variants for redesignating street classes.
“Since a wide variety of investigations still need to be carried out, no statement can be made at this point as to which options represent a viable path and should be pursued in the interest of all those involved,” said the spokesman.
The building authority and the city remained in close contact on this matter.
When asked, Mayor Christian Götz confirmed discussions with the Freising State Building Authority.
“Everything is still being tested.” There are no concrete results yet.
backgrounds
The spokesman for the State Building Authority also explains the background to the whole debate again: The different interests in connection with the Amper Bridge in Fürstenfeldbruck have been preoccupying the city and the State Building Authority for some time, he says.
The Freising State Building Authority has had reports since the end of 2017 in which a renovation of the existing Amper Bridge is no longer possible due to its poor condition and a new replacement building is proposed.
tonnage
The federal government, as the road construction authority for the B 2, represented here by the Freising State Building Authority, would only finance a new bridge without load capacity restrictions if a replacement were to be built from an economic point of view, explains the spokesman.
The city of Fürstenfeldbruck is interested in ensuring that heavy traffic through Fürstenfeldbruck does not travel along the main road in the future, but instead uses the truck bypass via Oskar-von-Miller Straße.
This route was established due to the tonnage restrictions of the Amper Bridge.
In addition, the Amper Bridge has been a listed building since 2014, the spokesman reminds.

Outcry
A relocation of the B 2 to Oskar-von-Miller-Straße and then further to Landsberger Straße was discussed some time ago.
However, this resulted in an outcry from residents and rejection.
Forwarding traffic from Oskar-von-Miller-Straße to the outer Schöngeisinger Straße to the B 471 has always been considered inappropriate or even impossible because it is too far.
It remains unclear at the moment what will happen next with the Amper Bridge.
If the B 2 were to be relocated and the Augsburger/Münchner Straße in Bruck was downgraded, the city would be responsible for the bridge - which would be financially exciting.
