A low over southern Germany brings a significant drop in temperature to Munich.

There could even be enough for “wet snowflakes” in the state capital.

Munich - If that's not a drop in temperature: people in Munich just streamed outdoors last weekend and enjoyed the spring-like temperatures of up to 17 degrees on Sunday.

There is expected to be a sharp drop in temperature on Wednesday (March 6th) - to a maximum of four degrees.

As Dominik Jung, a qualified meteorologist, explains upon request, there could even be enough for a few “wet snowflakes” in Munich.

Snow in Munich?

Deep in the south of Germany brings a drop in temperature

The reason for this is a low that is moving across the Alps in the very south of Germany and is bringing with it a lot of precipitation.

According to Jung, “up to 30 liters around Munich” can then be expected.

Further south, towards the mountains, from 700 to 1000 meters, sleet or snow can be expected.

Of course, all of this is completely normal for the current time of year, Jung continued - but the cool weather won't last long.

On Thursday the thermometer climbed to a maximum of nine degrees and on Friday to a maximum of eleven degrees.

Spring is expected to appear again on Saturday: with sunshine and temperatures of up to 15 degrees.
