Highlights: “Advertising master”: 18-year-old travels through Germany and reports parking violations. “Advertiser Master” proudly presents its annual statistics on Facebook. In one day he wrote 95 advertisements, which resulted in 622 points in the driving fitness register. He is met with incomprehension on the Internet: “At some point karma will hit you exactly where you deserve it!” says one comment. But there is also understanding, albeit very rarely: "I think that's ok, because if everyone sticks to the rules (which they usually demand for others too)," explains one user.

An 18-year-old has made it his mission to hunt down illegal parkers.

To do this, he travels to many cities and presents his statistics at the end of the year.

Kassel – everyone knows stamp collecting.

There are much more exotic hobbies: extreme ironing, soap carving or zorbing, for example.

The latter involves rolling down hills in a giant inflatable ball.

All these hobbies have one thing in common, they don't hurt anyone.

That's different with Niclas Matthei's hobby.

It hurts those who park illegally, namely in their wallets.

The 18-year-old calls himself the “advertiser master” and filed a total of 4,247 reports of illegal parking in 2023.

He hunts and collects traffic violations like other people collect stamps.

“Advertisement Master” proudly presents its annual statistics on Facebook

Matthei is active throughout Germany.

He proudly presents his annual statistics on Facebook.

In Leipzig, for example, he filed 429 reports.

In Grafenhainichen in Saxony-Anhalt there were even 905. His daily average was 11.6 advertisements per day.

He writes that he is “very satisfied” with this result.

Sat.1 and Spiegel TV follow “Advertiser Master” with the camera

Matthei has already appeared in front of the camera for Sat.1 “Breakfast Television” and “Spiegel TV” and allowed a larger audience to take part in his forays.

Once he found a van in a stopping zone and said: “Anyone who stops or leaves their vehicle for more than three minutes is parked.”

The driver is not happy when Matthei asks him about it.

He is also met with incomprehension on the Internet: “At some point karma will hit you exactly where you deserve it!” says one comment, he is described as an informer and comrade pig.

There are also specific threats: “Suddenly and unexpectedly you will hopefully disappear soon,” writes one user.

But there is also understanding, albeit very rarely: "I think that's ok, because if everyone sticks to the rules (which they usually demand for others too), then you wouldn't need someone like that," explains one user.

On a record day, the 18-year-old placed 95 notices for illegal parking.

Matthei is not unsettled by the hate comments: “Many people think they can park however they want.

I'll help out a little.” He proudly explains that he helps the community coffers through his advertisements.

German Environmental Aid also called on citizens to report illegal parking.

“According to the catalog of fines, the nationwide total amount of fines and warnings collected from my advertisements is 140,995 euros.” He was active in 84 cities and municipalities.

In one day he wrote 95 advertisements, which resulted in 622 points in the driving fitness register.

The fire brigade recently experienced in Düsseldorf that illegal parking can become a danger: a brazen illegal parker blocked the fire department exit.

However, it is often unclear who has the right of way when streets are really narrow due to parked cars.
