With “Big Brother”, Sat.1 is bringing a real cult format back to television.

But the Normalo season runs almost exclusively via Joyn stream - which causes dissatisfaction.

Cologne – This container made television history: For many years, “Big Brother” was a mass phenomenon that enjoyed great popularity – among the TV audience, but also among those who sought their great fortune in the constantly monitored show prison.

With success: For pop singer Jürgen Milski (60), for example, who took second place in the first season (2000), the show was a big breakthrough.

On Monday evening (March 4th) the format started its 14th season on Sat.1.

“Big Brother” is hardly on the Sat.1 program: viewers complain about Joyn

In contrast to the offshoot “Celebrity Big Brother”, this one only features normal people, including the sporty Maxime (20), craftsman Mateo (46) and Ruhrpott rocker Jacqueline (35).

Sat.1 showed the move live on Monday from 8:15 p.m.

However, if you want to follow what's happening in the TV container, you have to rely on the in-house streaming service Joyn.

There is a 24-hour live stream there, at least for subscribers.

The respective daily summaries, however, can also be accessed without a paid membership.

In the regular Sat.1 program, “Big Brother” gets almost no airtime at all: on Mondays from 10:55 p.m. only the decision is shown, in which it is announced which participant has to be eliminated.

All other content is only available via Joyn - a circumstance that is already robbing many fans of their interest in the reality show, as the corresponding reactions to X. prove: “I'm not sure whether Joyn can be a success.

Today, a format like this thrives on community on the internet,” criticizes one user, while another judges: “This shitty Joyn is annoying.”

Hardly any “Big Brother” insight without Joyn membership: fans are very disappointed

Many “Big Brother” fans also personally turn to Sat.1 via Instagram to express their dissatisfaction with the limited TV broadcast time: “It’s such a shame that without the Internet you can only watch the Monday shows,” “Why isn’t that possible? Just broadcast it every day?” or “It always used to happen every day from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“It was much better,” it says in the comments.

If you don't have Joyn, you're staring down the tubes: the new "Big Brother" season hardly gets any airtime on the Sat.1 program.

“Big Brother” runs for a total of 100 days - a period for which some people who would otherwise have tuned in don't want to take out a Joyn membership.

In fact, private broadcasters are now often relying specifically on their streaming offerings in order to keep up with providers such as Netflix or Prime Video as the industry changes.

However, many television fans were also dissatisfied with the competition - but for a completely different reason: Many RTL viewers find the new “Let's Dance” studio “hideous”.
