“Daughter-in-law Wanted” once caused a real TV scandal, but now RTL and new presenter Angela Finger-Erben are vowing to do better.
There is also indirect criticism of Vera Int-Veen.
Cologne – In 2016, satirist Jan Böhmermann (43) achieved a stroke of genius when he introduced his own candidate to “Daughter-in-Law Wanted” in order to uncover the grievances surrounding RTL production.
The dome show, hosted at the time by Vera Int-Veen (56), had already been criticized for making the long-term singles who wanted to flirt look as awkward as possible and thus expose them.
But that should now finally come to an end.
For the 15th anniversary there will be a new edition in which Vera will be replaced by Angela Finger-Erben (44).

#verafake, as Böhmermann called his unveiling film back then, is still remembered on RTL to this day.
Those responsible seem to have learned their lesson.
Because the new “Daughter-in-Law Wanted” (starts on March 10th at 7:05 p.m. on RTL) is intended to make up for the mistakes of yesteryear.
Vera's successor Angela Finger-Erben is also in favor of this, and in an interview with

she directly taunts her predecessor: “It was very important to me that I didn't show people off and that I was on an equal footing with the singles.
That was also very important to the station.” The accusation of screening, which Vera had to deal with again and again, put the dating format in a bad light.
The voice-over comments, which accompanied the events within the program until 2018, always contained a pinch of subtle mockery.

Before she took over the moderation of the new edition of “Daughter-in-Law Wanted”, Angela Finger-Erben was assured by RTL that the new season would treat the candidates with respect.
She is there to help and advise the lonely hearts who are hoping for true love in the evening's program: "I'll do a bit of digging, have an open ear for all participants and am happy to help with any problems."

However, some things remain the same: as the show title clearly suggests, the candidates' mothers will of course also be involved in choosing a partner this time.
Some people think too well of their own child.
Angela Finger-Erben admits that “mothers can also be the reason why sons cannot find a wife.”
How the new edition will be received by viewers remains to be seen.
Another program in the competing program is currently causing dissatisfaction: Because “Big Brother” is hardly shown on linear television, there is great frustration.
