It did not take long for several partners to once again distance themselves from the French president, who for several weeks seems to be banking on a communication strategy that is as audacious as it is perilous.
“Discussions” about “courage” will “not really help solve the problems”, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius replied in the hours that followed, while the White House recalled that Ukraine -even “never asked for foreign troops to fight for his country”.
Until now, the vast majority of kyiv's supporters have expressed their disagreement with Paris, without visibly casting doubt on the French head of state.
