By a press release published on March 5 on the website of the town of Corbeil-Essonnes (Essonne), the second town in the department, Bruno Piriou, the mayor (DVG) announced his “emergency hospitalization in cardiology, at the following the appearance of chest pain” within the Center Hospitalier Sud Francilien (CHSF) in Corbeil-Essonnes.
Saturday during the day, the 59-year-old elected official was still on the ground, notably present during the inauguration of the craft market at the association house.
“He felt unwell during the night of Saturday and Sunday,” indicates Michel Nouaille, his first deputy who will take the reins of the city while awaiting his recovery.
“After an intervention to prevent a possible relapse, I am doing as well as possible and I would like to thank everyone who expressed their support to me,” wrote the elected official in his press release.
I had the chance, at this moment when destiny confronted me with the urgency of a medical response, to take advantage of it and to see at work all these leaders who constitute the reality of public service.

Replaced at short notice by his first deputy
In the meantime, Michel Nouaille and the entire municipal team will continue to work.

“These are files that we have been following for a long time, his absence will not pose a problem,” reassures Michel Nouaille.

“I will very likely be physically unavailable for some time,” writes the mayor.

The “supervisory” council of the southern Ile-de-France hospital of which I am a member, could also re-examine its name and transform itself into a sharing body which would give a voice to caregivers and those being treated.
