18 years old for less than two weeks, Mahamadou G., discovered this Wednesday the immediate appearance at the Senlis court, where he received his first conviction as an adult.
This Monday morning, around 10 a.m., the defendant approached a student from the Marie-Curie high school at a bus stop located opposite the Nogent-sur-Oise establishment.
His face partially covered by a hood, he pretends to ask the time but is mainly interested in the high school student's smartphone.
He then asks to be able to make a phone call with the device and, when the owner refuses, snatches it from his hands.
The victim resists and tries to recover his phone but his attacker takes out a cutter and orders him to give his unlock code.
“I wanted to bring some money home”
The arrival of a group of people will put the racketeer on the run, who will be spotted shortly after thanks to the geolocation of the phone.
Mahamadou G. is arrested on rue de la République in Creil, with the phone stolen from him.
The entire sequence of the assault scene is confirmed by the high school's video surveillance images.
In police custody and at the hearing, he easily admitted the theft, which he justified by a precarious financial situation.
“My mother is several late on rent, I wanted to bring some money home, I apologize to my victim.
» But it seems that the young man's drift did not begin with his transition to adulthood.
“Several proceedings for identical facts await him before the children’s court,” recalls the deputy prosecutor.
“He sees his mother crying every day, he grows up in a family that has difficulties, in the Creilloise area, the second poorest in France according to an INSEE study,” underlines Me Ludivine Padé, the lawyer of Mahamadou G., who received a ten-month suspended sentence and the obligation to complete a citizenship course.
