"In Via Mosso there were transsexuals who spat infected blood at the police."
There is political controversy in Milan over the sentences uttered by the city councilor and provincial secretary of the League, Samuele Piscina, on Monday in the city council during his speech.
The Northern League councilor was commenting on the events that had occurred the day before in the Via Padova area, the scuffles between demonstrators from the social centers and the police, during a protest over a torchlight vigil on security promoted by the League in the area and for the presentation of the book by the MEP Carroccio Silvia Sardone.
During the session a centre-left councilor had defined Via Padova as "a model of integration" and so Piscina intervened to reply.
"Considering Via Padova as a model of integration is an aberrant mystification of reality. In Via Mosso, an administration led by the League and the centre-right wanted a gate which we had to impose - he explained - because there were transsexuals spitting infected blood at law enforcement. This was what happened. There was drug dealing and prostitution."
These words sparked the anger of the PD councilor and LGBTQ+ activist, Michele Albiani, who shouted in the courtroom, "you suck, shame on you", immediately asking for an apology from the Northern League councilor.
"Once again - we read on gay,it regarding the episode - a deliberate attack on the transgender community in institutional classrooms. Once again an ignorant and dehumanizing language towards already marginalized subjectivities, exploited as fetishes to identify an easy scapegoat" .
