A
Federal Police officer
chased and killed this Wednesday morning a thief who had stolen her cell phone while she was waiting at a bus stop in Villa Lugano.
The woman was detained.
The situation was recorded by a video taken by a security camera, on the sidewalk of the General Paz Avenue collector, an area that is popularly known as "on the Province side" but is still Buenos Aires jurisdiction.
Yanina Marotte was there waiting for the bus, near the Pedro de Mendoza bridge, when two thieves approached her.
One of them displayed a weapon
.
After a struggle, in which they pushed her and threw her to her floor, they took her phone from her.
According to police sources, the officer chased the thieves, who crossed General Paz.
Near the INTA neighborhood, the person carrying the gun pointed it at him, so the police defended themselves with their service weapon and killed him.
The robber's gun finally turned out to be a
replica
.
"PFA officer Yanina Marotte used her weapon and acted in legitimate defense, defending herself from two criminals who attacked her fiercely. She cannot remain imprisoned. For us, victims cannot be victimizers," said Patricia Bullrich, Minister of Security of La Nación, which shared the video on social networks.
