A couple of motorcycle riders were arrested in Córdoba after trying to rob a woman who was walking down the street.
But the most striking thing about this case is that the person who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle was
a 21-year-old girl who was 9 months pregnant
and was wearing a backpack, one of those used by delivery workers to go unnoticed.
The case occurred on Monday in the city of Córdoba, in the Parque Capital neighborhood.
The assault was recorded by a home security camera and in the images you can see the moment in which the pair of thieves are prowling around with a moped.
The thief driving the motorcycle is wearing a helmet, but his pregnant partner is not.
She is wearing a backpack from the
Rappi delivery company.
When the driver saw a woman approaching walking on the sidewalk, he stopped the motorcycle, got off, and stood on the sidewalk as if he were going to ring the bell to deliver an order.
At the moment when the victim passed in front of him, the motorcycle jet pulled on the woman's purse to try to get it out of her.
But the victim
held on tightly to the bag, struggled and ended up falling to the floor.
In the middle he yelled everything at him to try to scare him away and get the attention of the neighbors.
The motorcycle rider gave up the assault and returned to the motorcycle where his pregnant partner was waiting for him and they escaped.
Someone called the Police and an operation began to try to find the motorcycle jets.
In the Cupani neighborhood, a patrolman spotted the suspects and began a chase.
According to police sources reported to
La Voz
, during the escape the couple tried to climb onto the roof of a house.
But the woman tripped and fell to the floor.
Even so, they did not manage to catch her.
The pregnant woman managed to get up and she went into the house of an acquaintance.
Finally, the police managed to stop her and
called an ambulance
that took her to the Provincial Maternity Hospital, where she was detained.
Her accomplice was caught a few blocks away.

The agents seized the motorcycle (red and black Keller brand), a helmet, a
Rappi
backpack , clothing, a cell phone and 15 thousand pesos, among other items.
The pregnant woman suffered multiple trauma and had to be hospitalized.
A 17-year-old teenager was also arrested for obstructing the work of police officers.

The motorcycle couple was identified as Franco and Samira, according to
La Voz.
The two have
a history of robberies
and in one of them they allegedly hurt the victim, according to judicial information.
The couple was awaiting a trial by the Córdoba Crime Chamber for one of those violent assaults, but they were free – and, apparently, committing crimes.
The case was in charge of prosecutor Luis Micheli.
Judicial and police sources indicated to La Voz that the pregnant motorcycle couple is suspected of
several assaults under this modality
in which the perpetrators are a woman and a man on a low-displacement motorcycle and who use delivery backpacks.
Until now the couple remained detained.
The woman is in good health and they are considering placing her under house arrest due to her advanced stage of pregnancy.
