At the end of 2020, Nicole suffered a serious blow of fate: the pop singer was diagnosed with breast cancer - a day that shapes her life to this day.
Neunkirchen – Nicole (59) had to experience the hard way in December 2020 that life can sometimes change suddenly from one day to the next.
The end of the year had a nasty surprise in store for the pop singer: two malignant tumors were discovered in her right breast.
Since having cancer: Nicole is “feared” every time she visits the doctor.
The diagnosis of breast cancer threw the 1982 “Eurovision Song Contest” winner off track.
But Nicole fought her way back to life: in July 2022 she announced her recovery.
“I'm just happy that it's over and I can really look forward again,” she said happily in the
FAZ
at the time .
Her healing was also tearfully celebrated by fellow hit singer Florian Silbereisen (42).

However, those who have beaten cancer do not simply leave the disease behind them.
The worry that he might return one day still concerns Nicole to this day, as she recently revealed
to bild.de
: “Every three months I go for a check-up, get an infusion for bone density, a complete blood count and the port catheter, which I still have , is checked.
The fear still comes with me to every appointment.”
Exciting: Nicole received papal help
After her shock diagnosis, the pop singer not only relied on the skills of trained doctors, but also on support from above: During her recovery, Nicole relied on none other than Pope Benedict XVI.
(†95).
After a serious illness: Pop star Nicole looks forward
But the “A Little Peace” interpreter has now managed to let go of everyday worries about the illness: “You can’t let yourself go crazy.
Now I no longer think about cancer 24/7.
There are no new signs that the cancer is back.
Everything is good.” The title of her current album “I’m back,” which was released in 2022, seems appropriate.

Because this title leaves no doubt that Nicole wants to stay in the pop world for a while - especially after her shock diagnosis.
Her fans should also be happy: From March 7th, the singer will be on her “I'm back” tour (including in Dillingen and Nonnweiler), which will continue in November (including in Plauen, Erfurt and Hamburg).
An important tour is also coming up for other stars in the industry in 2024: after fan anger, Marianne (71) and Michael Hartl (74) are now drawing conclusions.
