Uschi Glas has been married to Dieter Hermann since 2005.

But everything almost turned out differently - for a very specific reason...

Munich – Actress Uschi Glas (80) just celebrated her 80th birthday.

But you can't tell the German film icon's age.

Above all, love seems to keep her young and fit.

In the GALA interview she now raves about her husband Dieter Hermann (73) and what unusual passions they share.

However, she also reveals that their love almost failed.

Uschi Glas about husband Dieter Hermann: “He should look for someone younger”

Uschi Glas seems to have hit the jackpot with Dieter Hermann.

The entrepreneur and passionate golfer seems to be a fountain of youth for the actress.

They both keep fit by walking together in the morning.

In the evening we cook side by side.

Both also compete to see who can disassemble and repair technical devices faster.

The happiness in love was originally in jeopardy.

Especially due to the age difference, Uschi Glas had doubts about the relationship.

When she found out that he was seven years younger, she wanted to dump him.

“I thought: Okay, that's it, he'll just be a good friend,” Uschi Glas remembers of getting to know each other.

“I told him to look for someone younger.” But the entrepreneur wanted to stay.

The two finally said yes 19 years ago.

Uschi Glas: Happiness in love on the second attempt

In her second marriage, Uschi Glas gained a completely new perspective on the topic of partnership.

“I used to think that being different was fascinating.

“Today I see that it’s something wonderful and not at all boring when you harmonize,” explains Uschi Glas in more detail in the interview.

Uschi Glas's first marriage was to film producer Bernd Tewaag (76) from 1981 to 2003.

She also has three children with him.

After Tewaag's alleged affair became public, the actress separated after 22 years of marriage.

“It probably took me a year to get over it – a year of mourning, so to speak,” she remembers in an interview.

“At some point I realized it was over.

Without feelings of revenge, she simply survived.” Today she is grateful for this fateful turn in her life.

Otherwise she would never have met her Dieter.
