There was a lot to do - and it was worth it.

The Gaden local history association is happy about the year 2023. The report from the annual general meeting.

Gaden – The Gaden hometown club can be completely satisfied.

At the annual general meeting on Sunday in the community hall of the fire station, the board only gave positive information.

The main topic in chairman Stefan Eicher's board report was of course the 2023 theater season including the preparation and follow-up.

Eicher left no doubt that the new Hüttn, a small log cabin that has been set up in front of the fire station for the theater season for several years and serves as a meeting place for advice, snacks and drinks, had taken a lot of work.

The house was larger than its predecessor, “we had to practically start from scratch.” But the effort was worth it, more visitors could fit into the larger hut, which generated higher sales and therefore a greater profit.

The 2023 theater season began “practically in August” – two sets had to be accommodated on the rather small stage, which required tricky work.

The number of rehearsals was also higher than usual; the “Earthworm Oracle” with its two locations demanded a lot from the mimes.

But: The well over 1,000 tickets were sold within a few days and the audience was consistently enthusiastic.

“I think we are now the strongest club in Gaden in terms of numbers,” said Eicher happily.

Last year, the number of people grew by 14, to a total of 211. The increase is the result of the increased number of moss sparrows, which now come not only from Gaden, but also from the surrounding areas and are celebrating successes, looked after by Petra Waldhauser.

“People should be happy to come, everyone should have fun with us!” was the chairman’s credo.

And that is why everyone involved, including their partners, will also be invited to a banquet, which will be rescheduled for 2023.

Auditor Wolfgang Mutzbauer had no complaints about the cash management, cashier Tom Kink only had positive figures: Although the expenses in the 2023 financial year were high, the income from membership fees, entrance fees and profits from the hut significantly exceeded them - despite generous catering for all those involved, including the Moss sparrows.

Eicher: “I don’t think we did anything wrong.”

Christiana Patsoulini and Marcus Trommen should be honored for ten years of membership, Matthias Kerger for 25 years.

None of the long-standing members were able to receive the honor in person.

Certificate, badge of honor and champagne are delivered to the house.
