Five days after the attack on a sixty-year-old leaving a synagogue in Paris on Friday, a suspect was arrested this Wednesday morning.
The man “wearing a kippah” was leaving the synagogue and was attacked by a man who “fleed on foot”, according to sources close to the investigation.
The author “insulted the victim as a
dirty Jew
while punching and kicking him several times,” one of them detailed.
“According to the first elements, a new anti-Semitic attack took place in Paris yesterday evening,” wrote Gérald Darmanin on X.
“Everything is being done to find the author of this unspeakable act,” he added.
The attack took place on Friday at 5:30 p.m. on rue des Orteaux, in the 20th arrondissement, police sources told AFP.
