Strong tensions at the Palais Bourbon.
While part of the debates this Wednesday focused on the fight against anti-Semitism, the Minister of Justice and the RN deputy Julien Odoul clashed violently on the subject.
It all starts with the questioning of the nationalist elected official, who associates ambient anti-Semitism with the discourse carried out for several years by a radical fringe of the left.
Reacting quickly, Éric Dupond-Moretti strongly responded to his opponents.
“Mr. Odoul is right to recall what the far left has been saying for many months (...).
But when I said that, I didn't say everything (...).
You give us lessons in anti-Semitism and you forget to remember that anti-Semitism also comes from your party founded by a Waffen-SS
,” launched the Minister of Justice, raising his voice.

Before continuing her diatribe:

A dig which added even more fuel to the fire, the RN deputy accusing the member of the government of having made
“a quenelle”,
not visible on the video channel of the National Assembly.
As a reminder, the anti-Semitic significance of this gesture, popularized by Dieudonné, no longer needs to be demonstrated.
The suspension being finally granted, the Minister of Justice was able to speak before the break.
“Mr. Soral had gone to make the quenelle.
The quenelle, that’s it, you see
,” assured Éric Dupond-Moretti, miming the gesture.
“It was you who invented it
,” he said to the RN deputies in a great uproar.
A few moments later, Julien Odoul demanded an apology from the Minister of Justice.
“Mr. Dupond-Moretti is a repeat offender: when it's not arms of honor, it's dumplings.
This should stop.”
Another sign of the tension that reigned this Wednesday in the Hemicycle, the deputy LR Meyer Habib, very committed to the fight against anti-Semitism, came down from his rank to come and talk with the minister, seated in the seats allocated to the government.
The elected representative of the French people from the Mediterranean basin was quickly rejected by the bailiffs.
