After a year of record attendance with 2.5 million entries in 2023, Puy du Fou is thinking even bigger for the 2024 season. The Vendée theme park, which will open its doors from March 30 to November 3, has its share in store surprises to its visitors.
The new show
Le Mime et l'Étoile
, launched in 2023, is being renewed this year.
A tribute to the beginnings of the 7th art and silent cinema, the 28-minute work which cost 20 million euros has just been named “The most creative show in the world” by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA ).
Another show, “A Pluma y espada”, performed at Puy du Fou in Toledo, Spain, was voted “Best show of the year 2023”.
For Easter, Puy du Fou is organizing its first
Great Egg Hunt
from March 31 to April 15.
Ten Easter eggs, all made of wood by the Puy du Fou clog maker, will be hidden in ten cities in France, all linked to the heroes of the park's shows: Angers, Orléans, Bordeaux, Brest, Lyon, Strasbourg, Nantes, Marseille, Versailles and Paris.
To win the prizes at stake, participants will have to solve puzzles which will be broadcast on the Puy du Fou social networks.
Also in the spring, 350 actors and horses will celebrate the passing of the
Olympic flame
in the park on June 4 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
10 or 20 km night run
Another new feature is the ephemeral show
La Frairie de la Toussaint
, which will be offered every evening during the All Saints school holidays, from October 19 to November 2.
Royal carriages, plumed horses, musicians and dancers... At nightfall, invite yourself to the wedding of François I among 300 guests, including Leonardo da Vinci and Pierre de Ronsard.
The traditional Cinéscénie night show
,
which traces the history of France over seven centuries from the Middle Ages to the Second World War, will be performed 28 evenings during the 2024 season, on Fridays and Saturdays between June 1 and September 14, with the exception of Friday June 7, July 26 and September 13.
For the more sporty, the
Foulée des Géants
(October 5), a night race of 10 or 20 km through the paths of the park, is renewed for the 5th edition.
