On Monday, the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro found the body of a 53-year-old doctor buried in the patio of a house in Rio das Ostas, Brazil.
Thus, with this brutal discovery, a months-long lie ended: her murderer, in addition to killing
Glaubenia Serpa Costa
and hiding her body,
had been posing as her for seven months
.
The alleged murderer was caught and identified as
Emanuel Pereira
.
Costa had been missing since July, the month in which she was murdered, but the investigation was only opened after a friend of hers from San Pablo suspected that something was not right and reported her disappearance.
Already in the hands of the police, the main suspect confessed to having killed Costa after an argument.
It is presumed that he stabbed her, since the woman's body had stab wounds.

Investigators said Glaubenia and Pereira argued because
she was accusing him of theft

The man would have murdered her after the woman threatened to report him to the police.
Since Costa had no family or friends in Río das Ostras, it was easy for Pereira to deceive those close to him for so long.
Since the woman's disappearance, the man took the place of the endocrinologist online, where he reported that he was suffering from mental health problems.
At the same time, the murderer also posed as the woman's brother, according to CNN Brazil.
He told her followers that the woman was in Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, and she published motivational videos on Instagram.
The woman was buried in the patio of her house.

The case is currently being investigated as femicide and concealment of a corpse.
In the coming days, testimony will be taken from other suspects, including Pereira's wife.
