Some streets in Geretsried have already been repaired - like Elbestrasse here.
Depending on how badly the roads are affected, either only small areas are repaired or a larger section is repaired.

Winter has left its mark on Geretsried.
There are some potholes on the roads.
But the town hall reassures: the situation is like every year.
Geretsried
– The snow has long since melted away.
But you can still clearly see it on the streets: the winter has left its mark.
Some roads in Geretsried are not in good condition.
Potholes turn the roads into bumpy roads.
But how bad is the situation actually this year?
We asked at the town hall.
Potholes in Geretsried “no more severe than usual”
“It's not any more severe than usual,” reassures Thomas Loibl, the city's spokesman, “this kind of damage occurs every year.” Nevertheless, citizens still call the town hall again and again.
“We have already received reports, some online,” reports Loibl and emphasizes: “We are happy about any information.
Reports like this from citizens are important and we are very grateful for them.” The construction yard is taking care of the broken roads.
That's why you can either contact them directly - "then the information will be in the right place" - or contact the city administration.
You can read the latest news from Geretsried here.
But how do these holes in the roads actually arise?
“Moisture enters the road surface, which then freezes,” explains Loibl.
UV radiation and strong temperature fluctuations would do the rest.
Elbestrasse is particularly affected - but there is no front runner
Elbestrasse, for example, is particularly badly affected in the urban area.
“There are a few more potholes here,” said the spokesman.
In fact, no area is the leader when it comes to the number of potholes.
“You can’t really single out any part of the city.”
Construction yard repairs damage
The roads are patched with cold asphalt.
“This means that the roads can be repaired in winter depending on the damage,” says Loibl.
This cold asphalt is used as a “quick solution”.
It is primarily a temporary solution, “but it can also last for several years.”
According to Loibl, in some cases it doesn't make sense to just repair smaller areas.
Instead, on larger sections of road it is more effective if the construction yard arrives with a whole team.
“Large-area processing is then better, but of course that also involves more effort.”

In order to patch the streets in the city, the construction yard employees are securing the affected section.
“The cold asphalt is mixed with water and then tamped in.
In larger areas, a roller or a vibrating plate is used,” explains Loibl.
The road is then immediately passable again.
