The province of Chaco will experience a double day of celebration.
Finally, a
replica of David's sculpture
will be presented this Wednesday, March 6 in Resistencia, the national capital of sculptures, on the occasion of the launch of the XIII
International Sculpture Biennial
that will take place from July 13 to 21, also in this province.
The day of the official presentation of the replica of the sculpture, an emblem of Western art, coincides with the birth of the famous Italian Renaissance painter, sculptor and poet
Michelangelo, on March 6, 1475. For this reason,
Sculptor's Day
is celebrated
,
as a tribute.
In this way, the
digital copy
of the “Chaco” Michelangelo will be added to the rest of the first winning sculptures of the biennials in this northeastern Argentine province and, from this moment on, they will be able to dialogue with each other along with
65 other sculptures
in the February 2 Park, in Resistencia.
In the capital of Chaco there are some
670 open-air sculptures.
Let's do it.

The monumental replica of the
“David Chaco”
is a digital twin of the Renaissance sculpture.
It was built using 3D printing and 3D scanning: it measures 5.17 meters high (like the real David, located in
Florence
, Italy) and weighs between
500 and 600 kilos
.
Its imposing figure will be
7.17 meters
, once installed in the heart of Parque 2 de Febrero, in Chaco.
Its process required
four months of construction
.
This technique was created by Argentine artist
Gisela Kraisman Denise Di Federico
(manager of Dryada 3D Printer SRL and also an artist), whose technique is key to how to make exact copies of any type.
Along with the creators, the artists
Ricardo and María Soto, Facundo Álvarez and Adrián Vigil
also worked .

In addition to the official presentation of the “David Chaco”, the names of
the ten artists chosen
to participate in the 2024 edition of the Chaco Biennial, organized by the
Urunday Foundation
, will also be known .
The Chaco Biennial is an open-air
sculpture competition
in which only 10 artists – national or foreign – participate, who
will create their works in public view
in the central plaza of Resistencia.
The artists will be able to interact with visitors, who
will vote for the best sculpture
.
Likewise, various cultural activities will be carried out that will accompany the main event.
