While you don't necessarily have in mind where you will be next year, you should already work on administrative issues: if you are looking for accommodation in a student residence or want to submit a scholarship application, don't wait any longer to bring together the documents necessary for your file.
You have until May 31 to do so on the dedicated site.
To be completed entirely online, it is essential to be eligible for the scholarship and/or accommodation in a residence managed by the Crous.
Check your rights
First of all, whether you are a high school student who already has a scholarship or not, a student who already has a scholarship or not, check that you are entitled to assistance with the scholarship simulator available on the Crous website.
To find out, you will need, in particular, the overall 2022 gross income from your parents' tax notice (dated 2023) or from each of your parents if they are separated or finally from yours.
Since secondary school scholarships and higher education scholarships do not have the same calculation criteria, you could very well not be a high school scholarship student, but a scholarship student.
If you are a scholarship student this year, be careful, the process must be repeated every year, because “the renewal of scholarships is not automatic”, reminds the CNOUS in a press release.
Same thing, if you were not on a scholarship last year, re-simulate your rights this year.
If you are eligible, you can launch your student social file and make your request.
You will then receive a conditional scholarship notification by email.
The decisions of the Crous are contestable within two months after receiving the final notification of allocation or non-attribution.
For next year, the scholarship amounts have been increased from 37 to 127 euros per month - from 67 to 157 for overseas students who also benefit from 300 euros per year in addition to the amount indicated in the table.
Housing: don’t wait for the results from Parcoursup
If you wish to benefit from accommodation, once the DSE has been completed, you will have to wait until May 7 to have access to the accommodation offered by the Crous for next year.
The process will then be done online, as for the DSE.
Please note, if you are a high school student, the CNOUS specifies that you should not “wait for the Parcoursup results to complete your DSE.
Whatever their situation, scholarship or non-scholarship, future students can now create their DSE to start processing their file.
They will subsequently be able to provide proof of registration in a higher education establishment.”
This year, the Crous has launched a communications campaign.
“We really want students or future students to be able to put all the chances on their side and not miss out on assistance to which they could be entitled,” declared Bénédicte Durant, president of the CNOUS.
Which announces the elimination of application fees “which amounted on average to 5 euros”, one week after that on the increase in rents in the Crous rooms.
