While Crown Prince Haakon is keeping a low profile about King Harald's health, the date of the operation is getting closer.

Oslo – The Norwegian royal family was greatly relieved after King Harald (87) and Queen Sonja (86) landed safely back in Oslo.

During a holiday trip to Malaysia, Harald V. contracted an infection that required hospitalization and the insertion of a temporary pacemaker.

Nevertheless, King Harald's condition continues to worry Crown Prince Haakon (50) and the popular monarch's supporters.

On Monday (March 4th), Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit (50) and their daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra (20), visited King Harald at Rikshospitalet, the Oslo University Hospital.

Despite military service, Ingrid Alexandra rushed to the hospital to see Harald V, as did Harald's eldest daughter, Princess Märtha Louise (52).

A day later, Haakon had to return to his official duties.

However, the Crown Prince did not comment on how King Harald contracted the infection or what type of infection it was.

Haakon answered somewhat evasively: “The king was sick.

That's why he came to the hospital.

Then came this additional moment with a low heart rate,” said Norway’s heir to the throne.

“And then the use of a permanent pacemaker is also planned,” he continued.

It now seems to be clear when this will be the case.

“His Majesty the King is doing steadily better and his general condition is satisfactory.

The doctors are satisfied with the development,” the Norwegian Court announced on Wednesday (March 6).

“The infection is under control and the pacemaker is expected to be inserted at the beginning of next week.” Despite his health problems, King Harald apparently has no plans to hand over the scepter to Crown Prince Haakon.
