The couple had been separated for a long time but clearly he was having trouble coping with it.
During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, he arrived at the apartment where his ex-partner lives, rue Héloïse-Isabelle-Michaud in Gennevilliers, on the edge of Asnières and not far from the Gabriel-Péri metro station, around 2 a.m. .
The forty-year-old now lives on the other side of the Seine, in Clichy, but he still has the keys to the apartment in Gennevilliers where his ex-partner lives, which allowed him to enter the premises.
Facing the woman who shared his life, the man brandished a bottle of mineral spirits and a lighter, threatening, obviously out of control, to set fire to the home.

Despite the fear, the ex-partner was able to alert the police, who quickly arrived on site.
The man was still there, with his bottle of white spirit and his lighter.
He was immediately arrested and taken into custody for threats and destruction by incendiary means to explain himself in detail.
A judicial investigation is opened to trace the precise course of events.
