Finally !
After more than four years of work - and a pandemic - requiring the passage of seven tunnel boring machines, the tunnel for line 16 of the Grand Paris Express is now completely dug, indicates the Société des Grands Projets (SGP) this Wednesday March 6.
This major step is the prelude to the commissioning, “at the end of 2026”, of the part between Saint-Denis-Pleyel and Clichy-Montfermeil (Seine-Saint-Denis).
Then, "at the end of 2028", the entry into action of the stations located between Clichy-Montfermeil and Noisy-Champs.
Line 16, like line 17, will be operated by the operator Keolis.
29 kilometers long, line 16 is the first of the Grand Paris Express whose underground route is entirely dug.
“The Houda tunnel boring machine completed its journey on Monday February 26 at the Mare au Chanvre structure, located in the town of Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis).
It is the last of the seven tunnel boring machines (with Sarah, Bantan, Inès, Armelle, Mirelle and Maud) which will have made it possible to create a continuous tunnel between the Saint-Denis-Pleyel and Noisy-Champs stations,” specifies the SGP.
