A missile fired from Yemen hit a commercial ship in the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday and the crew reported at least two deaths and six injuries, a US official said.
The missile caused
“significant damage”
to the Barbados-flagged, Liberian-owned vessel, the official said, adding that its
“crew reported at least two deaths and six injuries among its ranks and abandoned ship
.
The Houthi rebels in Yemen have been increasing attacks on ships off the coast of this country for several months, saying they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians and against Israel and its allies in the context of the war in the Gaza Strip.
