Editing direct messages

A standout feature is the ability to edit sent messages up to 15 minutes after they were sent.

Pin important chats

To improve inbox organization, Instagram now allows you to pin up to three 1:1 or group chats.

This option is accessible by swiping left on a chat or tapping it and selecting Pin.

Pinning important conversations makes it easy to access them quickly and helps you stay on top of things.

The read receipt on Instagram can now be switched off for more data protection.

Management of read receipts

The new read receipt management setting gives users the freedom to decide whether they want to indicate that a message has been read.

This option can be customized for all chats or individually and is located in your account settings under Messages and Story Replies.

Favorite stickers and personalization

Instagram has also introduced saving favorite stickers in DMs for easier access.

Users can long-press a sticker to add it to their favorites.

Additionally, stickers, GIFs, videos, photos and voice messages are now available when replying to a message.

The chat themes offer another personalization option that allows users to customize the look and feel of their conversations.

Meta, the parent company of Instagram, announces that some of the new themes, including the Love theme, will be animated in the future.

This constant innovation underlines Instagram's commitment to providing an attractive and user-friendly platform for communication.

The introduction of these features helps improve the user experience on Instagram by allowing more flexibility and control over personal communications.
