The Ukraine war makes you inventive: Honey Badger and Ironclad are two drones developed by Ukraine that can support soldiers on the ground.
Kiev - In addition to the well-known unmanned drones in the air, Ukraine is also relying on new remote-controlled messengers with explosives in the Black Sea in order to successfully decimate the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
Unmanned ground vehicles will now also be used.
At the beginning of January, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's X account published a video showing a ground drone in action in the fight against Russia.
Innovation in the Ukraine War: Drones on the ground against Russian tanks
Unlike air and water drones, the use of ground drones is more difficult.
Because the machines have to traverse rough terrain with more resistance, they are more difficult to develop and require more power than their counterparts.
Among the drones being tested on the Ukrainian side is the so-called “Honey Badger”.
As the name suggests, the drone is designed to attack vehicles, especially tanks.
Business Insider
reports that the drone can carry up to 35 kilograms of explosives to its destination at 24 km/h.
The Ukrainian company “Brave1” produces the small drones that are supposed to take action against Russian tanks.

Silent drones against tanks – do they make the difference in the Ukraine war?
The spokeswoman for the “Brave1” company, Viktoriia Kovalchuk, told
Businessinsider
that the drones could be individually equipped.
“The main idea is that the robot will be used as a mobile warhead that carries anti-tank mines or other explosive devices.” The drone is controlled remotely via a built-in camera and then detonated at the target.
The vehicle is supposed to drive silently up to enemy tanks and maneuver under them so that an explosive charge can damage the Russian tank from below.
The vehicle can remain in use for up to two hours and works in tandem with an aerial drone to keep an eye on the exact location and, if necessary, amplify the signal to the user, as the
Kyiv Post
reports.
Taras Ostapchuk, team leader for the development of the drone, told the newspaper: “Our Honey Badger can traverse any terrain that a jeep can traverse.
The guys want to have as many of these unmanned platforms as possible.”

The ground drones are supposed to make the qualitative difference in the Ukraine war
Unlike the Honey Badger, the Ironclad drone is a remote-controlled jeep with a stationary machine gun.
According to
Newsweek
, the vehicle will provide fire support to Ukrainian troops and carry out reconnaissance missions.
The drone's maximum speed is approx. 20 km/h.
Like the Honey Badger, the Ironclad is controlled by a soldier from a safe distance.
Where Russia relies on quantity, Kiev is trying to gain the upper hand in the war in Ukraine with technology and ingenuity.
