March 8th is International Women's Day: various alliances organize events and discussion groups
Ebersberg – Friday, March 8th is International Women’s Day.
The Ebersberg women's emergency hotline got the ball rolling and, in addition to the Ebersberg district education center (KBW), brought together the district youth ring (KJR), the youth center (AJZ) and the city of Ebersberg to plan various events on the occasion of International Women's Day.
International Women's Day in the Ebersberg district 2024
To kick things off, a KBW event will take place in the Grafing city library on March 7th under the title: “Women’s history(s) – a living library”.
In the “Living Library” people become books and are available for a conversation.
By telling or “reading” your own story, a differentiated view of the realities of women is made possible.
Visitors can come by to browse; 15 minutes are reserved for each book.
Women talk about themselves in the living library
As in a classic library, there are rules in the “living library”.
All visitors undertake not to damage the “book” with questions or to violate its dignity in any way.
The questioners accept that the book can break off the conversation at any time.
There will be women from the district: Olga Siegel, a woman born in Ukraine who has lived in Germany for 22 years and in Ebersberg for 15 years.
It is important to her that she is not a refugee, but she is very committed to refugees from Ukraine in Ebersberg and the entire district.
For example, she and Thomas Warg started city tours in Ebersberg in Russian.
Angela Rupp from the women's emergency call will come on stage with a former resident of the women's shelter in Erding.
It is important to those affected and the women's emergency call team to make it clear how long violence lasts for those affected.
The person affected will report on their life and their experiences of violence.
It starts at 7:30 p.m

Because from the point of view of the women's emergency number, this is still urgently needed.
