Germering - “For the fifth time, the Germeringers are supposed to put together a puzzle in the bookstore - for every piece that is correctly placed, we donate ten cents to an institution selected by us,” is how the two owners of the LeseZeichen bookstore Katrin Schmidt and Helen Hoff explain their puzzle campaign scheduled to begin on March 9th.

In the past, puzzles were carried out for the two fire departments, the water rescue service and the Cordobar youth facility.

For the fifth anniversary, the two owners have come up with something special.

“Because we are not only celebrating five years of 'you do the puzzle, we donate', but also 30 years of the LeseZeichen bookstore,” say Hoff and Schmidt.

The 18,000-piece “Magic Bookshelf” puzzle should be completed together with the customers within eight weeks.

The puzzle is divided into eight rectangles of 2,250 pieces each.

Every week another rectangle is puzzled to benefit a different facility.

Puzzle campaign “You do the puzzle – we donate”

There is also an additional reason for the 18,000 piece puzzle: the owners Helen Hoff and Katrin Schmidt took over the bookstore 18 years ago from its previous owner - at that time still “Book & Music”.

“It was almost obvious that we would now put together 18,000 pieces,” says Schmidt.

Every week there should be a puzzle for a different club.

If all the pieces of the puzzle are placed, a donation amount of 225 euros will be raised per week.

The proceeds will benefit the following institutions to which the two have a personal connection: Wasserwacht, Symphonic Wind Orchestra, Stadtkapelle, Rossstalltheater, Fun Unlimited, Frau MütZe, Adventure Playground and Hospice.

The two booksellers announce the order on their Instagram and Facebook channels as well as their homepage.

It starts with the water rescue service.

Puzzles can be done every day during opening hours.

On the puzzles, set, go!
