Seven men are said to have raped the Spanish-Brazilian tourist.
The police in India are now reporting the first arrests.
“Something happened to us that we would never wish on anyone,” the woman says in the one-minute clip, which was first published on Instagram and later on X (formerly Twitter).
It is said that seven men raped the tourist, beat her and her husband and robbed her.
“We are in a hospital, the police are here too,” the couple reports.
The woman is fighting back tears; she and her husband have wounds on their faces.
According to media reports, the violent crime took place in the metropolis of Dumka in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
The couple, who have been traveling the world on motorcycles for more than five years, were attacked by the men in their camping tent at night.
One of the seven perpetrators held a knife to the man's neck and threatened to kill him.
The men then pounced on the woman and raped her in front of her husband.
Fernanda apparently told the Spanish TV station Antena 3: “They threw a stone at my head, threw me to the ground and put a gag on me.
They sat on me and rubbed my face on the floor.
They hit me on the head and just said 'sex'.
Then they took off all my clothes, raped me and took turns while some watched.” The cruel act is said to have lasted two and a half hours.

The number of unreported cases, i.e. the number of women who do not report rape, is estimated to be high due to the patriarchal social structure in India.
As
