Wine "is an important element for our tourism also for the employment of many women, who are increasingly increasing. A very positive fact".

Women's Day is approaching and "I have always thought that one of the best ways to fight gender violence is to ensure that women have economic independence through a job and an income: it is what frees them and allows them to choose independently".

This was said by the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè at the presentation of the book "Wine tourism 4.0 - Wine tourism observatory: digital evolution" which was held in Rome in the Sala Zuccari at Palazzo Giustiniani.

Food and wine "represents a recognized and global excellence, and is a sector in great growth. Many decide the tourist destination also on the basis of our food and wine excellence - adds the minister -. Today in Italy we already have over 14 million wine tourists arriving or they travel to follow and frequent the wine route. Six out of 10 Italians travel for food and wine."

Our food and wine sector "has a unique peculiarity, 90% of our excellence is produced in the villages".

The ministry's commitment "is also to help many of the small villages to implement their tourist offers and to improve them".

We must channel "the profound knowledge linked to wine, an experience that is not only linked to taste - says the president of the Senate Ignazio La Russa - Exploiting this wisdom also to increase quality is doubly meritorious".

"Training is fundamental. It is increasingly difficult for operators in the sector to find qualified people" adds Santanché.

In this key "the creation of the high school for Made in Italy will be part of a broader project and we have made 21 million euros available to create a school of excellence that trains all types of tourism".
