That's not all: on Monday (February 26) in Berlin, the Chancellor may have publicly revealed that British soldiers could be in Ukraine to support the Ukrainian armed forces in their deployment with Storm Shadow cruise missiles.
Politicians from Great Britain then accused Scholz of betraying secret information.
The head of the SPD parliamentary group in the Bundestag, Rolf Mützenich, now defended the Chancellor.
And: Scholz's confidant also confirmed publicly in a ZDF interview that "there may obviously be British soldiers in Ukraine for the weapons system delivered there."

Mützenich said on Sunday (March 3rd) in the “Berlin Direkt” program: “This is a purely German discussion.
We have known for months, including from publications in the British media, that there may also be British soldiers in Ukraine for the weapons system delivered there." Scholz had taken up something about the Ukraine war "that has been known for a long time.

The Ukrainian armed forces have been using the British Storm Shadow cruise missiles and the French Scalp cruise missiles very efficiently for months, especially against Russian targets in Crimea, which was annexed in violation of international law.
Experts have long speculated whether the Taurus could be used to attack Kremlin autocrat Vladimir Putin's iconic Crimean Bridge.

Olaf Scholz: Chancellor rejects delivery of Taurus cruise missiles
The Federal Chancellor had “expressed a clear stance” by saying no to a delivery of the Taurus and he had “good reasons for coming to this decision,” said Mützenich.
Scholz had claimed that the help of Bundeswehr soldiers was needed for target control, and he had drawn a comparison to British and French soldiers for his argument.
However, neither London nor Paris had confirmed that they had deployed soldiers to Ukraine to help Ukrainian forces operate with the Storm Shadows and the Scalp.
Mützenich reiterated the Chancellor's argument on ZDF and explained that "if Bundeswehr soldiers could be involved in a military conflict" they would have to be given a mandate by the German Bundestag.
The 64-year-old Rhinelander also took a swipe at London and Paris: “In contrast to Great Britain and France, we also have other institutions, namely the parliament, which is legitimized by the voters in order to be able to have a say in such sensitive security policy issues .”
