“France and its women have shown that progress is possible and necessary.

France on Monday became the first country to explicitly include voluntary termination of pregnancy (IVG) in its Constitution, after a massive vote to this effect by the French Parliament meeting in congress at the Palace of Versailles.
This vote was welcomed by the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk.
“Unsafe abortion is one of the main causes of maternal mortality

“Access to safe and legal abortion is a human right and must be protected
,” he stressed.
