Highlights: The Bicameral continues with the discussion of Milei's DNU and receives Nicolás Posse and Luis Caputo. Victoria Villarruel still does not respond to the opposition's requests for a session. All this occurs in the prelude to a meeting that the Government called for Friday with the governors. The most dialogue-oriented opposition is making its last attempts to avoid the rejection of the presidential decree and exploring the possibility of moving forward with the mirror bills that were presented by Carolina Losada.

The meeting will be this Thursday and there are other officials summoned. Victoria Villarruel still does not respond to the opposition's requests for a session.

After the opening of ordinary sessions of Congress by

Javier Milei

, the bicameral Legislative Procedures Commission seeks to advance with

the treatment of

the President's mega DNU and a new meeting was called for this Thursday, but with the presence of officials from the national cabinet, among whom the Chief of Staff,

Nicolás Posse,

stands out ;

and the Minister of Economy,

Luis Caputo

.

In parallel, Vice President

Victoria Villarruel

continues not to respond to the requests of Unión por la Patria and the federal blocs to call a session in the Senate in order to address the legality of the deregulation decree that the President signed in last December and which modifies more than 300 laws.

All this occurs in the prelude to the meeting that the Government called for Friday with the governors in which it will seek to draw up "a roadmap" with a view to the so-called "May Pact", which Milei launched at the opening of the session and which is conditional on the approval of the Bases Law that will enable a fiscal pact with the provinces.

The definition was taken in

a meeting held this Monday by Nicolás Posse, Luis "Toto" Caputo and the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos

, in the office of the Chief of Staff after the announcement that Milei made on Friday in Congress opening a door to a possible negotiation with the provinces.

According to what was officially announced for Thursday's meeting in the Senate, the secretaries of State Transformation and Public Function, Armando Guibert, were also summoned - in addition to Posse and Caputo;

and of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing, Fernando Vilella.

Added to them are the Secretary of Labor, Omar Yasin, the Minister of Health, Mario Russo;

and the director of the ANSeS, Mariano de los Heros.

Without a doubt, attention will be focused on

how the opposition will position itself regarding the President's announcement

and what those legislators who respond to the governors will do.

But Posse's appearance, if it actually comes to fruition, will be

his first public appearance since he took office.

And, surely, the exchanges between the representatives of Unión por la Patria and Caputo will be quite striking.

In the Union for the Homeland bloc they did not confirm whether they are going to insist on the request for a session.

Since last month,

Kirchnerism has been pushing to bring the discussion to the venue

because it understands that the deadlines for the committee's treatment have been met.

Villarruel remains firm and is betting that with the presentation of the officials he can calm at least the provincial senators who maintain their request for a session.

It is clear that the vice president

does not call because she wants to avoid a defeat on the premises

.

But to the rejection of Unión por la Patria, which has 33 senators of its own, was also added the pressure of the 9 representatives of the federal benches and even the claim of radicalism.

The numbers show 42 votes against, which

conditions the ruling party's move to delay the discussion in the bicameral

to avoid the venue.

However, from Unidad Federal, the space made up of Carlos "Camau" Espínola, Edgardo Kueider and Alejandra Vigo, estimated that next week or at the latest on March 20 or 21, the session should be convened to discuss the mega DNU.

The most dialogue-oriented opposition is making its last attempts to avoid the rejection of the presidential decree and exploring the possibility of moving forward with the mirror bills that were presented by Carolina Losada and Martín Tetaz, but the strategy has not yet been fully agreed upon.

From the office of the libertarian Juan Carlos Pagotto, the president of the bicameral, they trust that both Posse and Caputo will be on the commission to respond for the DNU, but from the opposition there is low expectation that the chief of staff and the Minister of Economy go to Congress to fight.
