From Carla Accardi to Miranda July up to the "Extraordinary" protagonists of our themes immortalized by Ilaria Magliocchetti Lombi: in the week of March 8th there will be many exhibitions dedicated to the contribution given by female artists in terms of reflection and investigation on our times.

ROME - Palazzo delle Esposizioni hosts a major anthology on Carla Accardi, to celebrate the artist on the centenary of her birth.

From 6 March to 9 June, curated by Daniela Lancioni and Paola Bonani, the exhibition presents around 100 works, dating from 1946 to 2014, divided into a chronological path that includes portions of installations conceived by Accardi herself, deduced from the photographic documentation she allowed to also reconstruct the personal room at the 1988 Venice Biennale. Around 30 works signed by great sculptors of the last century, Balla, de Chirico, Fontana, Leoncillo, Manzù, Marini, Pomodoro, Wildt and others make up the exhibition "Form and Matter The great Italian sculpture of the twentieth century",

After 10 years Ingar Krauss returns to Rome with the exhibition "Deep blossom - Is it just a flower?", on display until 24 July at Gaggenau DesignElementi.

Curated by Sabino Maria Frassà, the solo exhibition brings together the artist's still lifes, all analogue shots printed in black and white, treated with the ancient Flemish technique of oil glazing and kept in wooden cases created by Krauss himself.

CASERTA - Until July 15th the "Visioni" exhibition in the spaces of the Grand Gallery of the Royal Palace of Caserta.

The exhibition, curated by Gabriella Ibello, presents the projects "Attraversamenti" by Luciano D'Inverno and "Genius et Loci-The dramaturgy of the gaze" by Luciano Romano dedicated to Luigi Vanvitelli and his work, between architecture and landscape.

BRESCIA - The Santa Giulia Museum celebrates Franco Fontana on the occasion of his 90th birthday with the exhibition "Franco Fontana.


    Colore", one of the most anticipated events of the seventh edition of the Brescia Photo Festival.

Scheduled from 8 March to 28 July, the exhibition (with 122 images created between 1961 and 2017) represents the outcome of the investigation and restoration work on the artist's works, both analogue and digital.

PERUGIA - The National Gallery of Umbria pays homage from 10 March to 9 June to the figure of the Master of San Francesco, one of the most important artists of the thirteenth century.

Entitled "The enigma of the Master of San Francesco. The Stil Novo of the Umbrian thirteenth century", the exhibition, curated by Andrea De Marchi, Emanuele Zappasodi, Veruska Picchiarelli, presents, brought together for the first time, 60 masterpieces from the most prestigious museum institutions, from the Louvre to the National Gallery.

MILAN - Chiara Baima Poma, Irene Balia, Loredana Galante, Laura Giardino and Sarah Ledda are the protagonists of the female collective "Any Questions?", set up at the Area\B gallery from 5 March to 10 May.

Curated by Isabella Tupone and Francesco Mancini, the exhibition (whose title quotes the closing sentence of Margaret Atwood's novel "The Handmaid's Tale") brings together 20 works - mostly unpublished - in which the artists give their own vision of the themes addressed in the literary work, including female emancipation, solidarity between women, the loss of rights and freedoms.

The exhibition set up at the Prada Foundation and focused on the American artist, director and writer is entitled "Miranda July: New Society".

Curated by Mia Locks, the project traces July's thirty-year career through short films, performances and installations, works which highlight the feminist approach of the artist who has always been committed to questioning consolidated hierarchies and conventional power dynamics.

Triennale Milano hosts the exhibition "Mariella Bettineschi. All in One", curated by Paola Ugolini, until March 24th.

The exhibition includes 4 groups of works created by the artist between 1980 and 2023, in a journey through different languages ​​(painting, sculpture and photography) to reflect on art and the centrality of the role of women.

"Straordinarie", the project promoted by Terre des Hommes and curated by Renata Ferri with photographs by Ilaria Magliocchetti Lombi, which collects 110 portraits and voices of Italian women from many areas of contemporary society, will close on March 17th at the Fabbrica del Vapore.

TORRE DI MORESCO (FM) - Pierpaolo Curti's solo show "SuSpenSionS", curated by Antonello Tolve, opens on March 9th at the Tomav Experience Centro Arti Visive.

Investigating the theme of landscape and alternating daytime and nighttime atmospheres, the artist from Lodi presents a series of works with the intention of inviting the visitor to active interaction.
